Don't worry if you don't have a mesh network—the RE315 works with almost any router, regardless of brand, as a traditional signal repeater to extend the range of your wireless network. Additionally, you can configure the RE315 to work as an access point by connecting directly to your router or network switch through its 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet port to add wireless connectivity.
